    co-operative insurance rip off company

The co-operative life insurance is a straight forward rip off company and not worth using to get insured unless you want to be defrauded, be warned they will NOT supply what you ask of them.

1984 we got insured but sadly also ripped off by an over eager insurance man selling us by far more than insurance than we could then at that time afford.

We took the matter by a simple phone call to the then brand new insurance ombudsman as recommended by citizen’s advice.

He in turn said we were to speak with the local insurance manager and get the policies changed over to death only which is all we had originally wanted from the company, meaning the monthly payments would be far less but we were safely insured for enough to bury us both.

Our reasoning behind this was that we needed the cash than at that time day to day week to week and not put away for sometime in the future and we could not then afford extortionate amounts for endowments that only made the company rich and we would not even get what we paid in and on death only leaves countless folk fighting over it all.

Okay so in 2009 we came to make an arrangement which meant we would now get points awarded to us for every insurance payment we subsequently made. However the insurance company refused to deal with me despite me being the payment maker all those years formerly. They said my other half was the proposer for us both and as such they would only talk with her?

It seems all those years back in 1984 when the over eager insurance salesman had been forced to change the policies over that he had got my wife to sign for new policies aware that I was not in and that he as such could not offer what we wished while I was not in.

So he effectively defrauded my wife and myself telling her nothing was or would be different other than the fact we were now covered for death only. What he did not relay is that I had then been removed as proposer for my wife and she was now proposer for us both.

We only found this out on 2009 when attempting to add the companies own point’s scheme to our insurance payments

We complained and the insurance company ignored all noise we made, we took this to the insurance ombudsman whose clerk said the insurance ombudsman was not around in 1984 so we must be lying?

The story seems to reflect that it’s more likely the insurance ombudsman has made us wait five months and left us hanging for no reason other than he cannot be bothered to investigate because he is so busy with the current never ending bank issues holding him as al his staff up

So we have told the insurance company we want a total refund they have agreed to pay a small amount and its nothing near what the policies were worth and we have been defrauded quite openly and deliberately by an over eager salesman working for them back in 19084

The trading standards as consumer rights act is quite clear that you get what you request from a company. You simply do not order a white car to be forcibly sold a black or green car because they do not have a white. You do not order a beef sandwich to forcibly be sold a chicken one.

Until the cop-operative insurance pay us both compensation for their misdeeds and fraud and their over eager agents deliberate fraud at that back in 1984 then every blog and web site  I run will contain this warning to the public overall not to use that fraudulent company for insurance

We have removed all services with the co-operative insurance both life and household insurance and would not recommend to any one at all that you use them
